With various airlines competing for business, there are lots of resources available for you to compare airfares without having to rely on traditional travel agents.

When just starting out, try to find the lowest fares for your trip by visiting popular web sites such as Orbitz.com.  Next, you can start refining your searches by visiting individual airline’s web sites such as Southwest.com, Unitedairlines.com, Jetblue.com, Etc.
