Cruises – 10 Reasons Why a Cruise Can be a Great Idea for a Babymoon

Chances are, you have heard the phrase “babymoon” recently. It has become the term that people use when describing the last big vacation that they take before the birth of their new child. Much like a honeymoon, it offers relaxation and fun for the couple before a big life changing experience begins. Cruises are becoming one of the most popular babymoon ideas. Why?

1. A cruise requires little planning. On some vacations, there are a lot of decisions to be made. Not only do you have to research airfare, hotels, hotel areas, rates, and cities but you then have to compare all of these. It can be frustrating to try to figure out which place offers the best deals, which neighborhood to avoid, and which website is really giving you the best hotel rate. With a cruise, all of that is taken care of. Your accommodations, room, entertainment, and restaurants are all right there together.

2. Cruises require little transportation on your part. If you’re planning a trip to New York City, then not only do you have to factor in airfare, but you also have to maneuver the subway, taxis, buses, and the busy streets and sidewalks. If you are pregnant and tired, this might not sound so appealing. However, despite the fact that a cruise ship is constantly moving, you don’t have to do anything about it. Once you’re on the ship, everything is right there for you.

3. Excursions can be as planned as you would like for them to be. You don’t even have to research any travel arrangements when it comes to shore excursions. The cruise ship will offer a list of excursions for each port and you can either use one of them, or not. If you are docking in Cozumel and all you want to do is lie around on the beach, then you can do that. If you want a tour of the island, then the cruise ship can do that for you, too.

4. Meals are included. At least one meal per day, usually diner, is included in the price of the cruise. This means that you don’t have to argue about restaurant choice or worry about spending too much money.

5. Everyone can find something that they enjoy doing. Some people do their babymoons with the children that they already have. If you have a toddler, then taking them on a cruise can be a fun, relaxing way of having a family vacation-even when you are pregnant. Most cruises offer children’s activities which means that while your 3 year old is happily finger-painting with other children his age, you and your partner can take in the casino. If that doesn’t sound appealing, then you can lounge around by the pool and not feel an ounce of guilt for having a relaxing trip.

Cruises have a ton of activities onboard so there is always something going on. You can be as involved as you want to be. With pregnancy, you don’t always know from one day to the next how you are going to be feeling. When it comes to cruises, this is okay. You can take it easy and relax, or if you feel a spurt of energy, then you can join one of the ship’s myriad of events. All in all, there is less pressure on you to see things and do things then you might find on a typical vacation.
